EVALUATION OF THE RADIATION FROM THIN WIRE SYSTEMS

Abstract:

This presentation is focused on the modeling of electromagnetic radiation from thin wire conductors. The estimation of the radiation is one of the most important objectives where the accurate modeling is necessary. In this work, one analytic approach of quantification of the radiated electromagnetic field from thin-wire systems is proposed.

On the basis of the known current and its first derivative (voltage) at the extremities of a two-wire system, obtained by using the transmission line theory, the proposed approach develops an analytical formalism for determination of the radiated electromagnetic field. This analytical formalism is readily extended also for multi-wire systems.

When the current distribution is obtained by using the antenna theory, the proposed method extracts the corresponding poles and residues by using the Matrix Pencil Method. In this case, the radiated electromagnetic field is formulated by a finite series of integral terms. This analytical formulation represents the main advantage of the proposed approach, and makes it very suitable for parametric and optimisation studies. Here again, the main idea is that the radiated electromagnetic field may be determined just on the base of a known current and its first derivatives only at the extremities of a thin-wire system.
