Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “English for IT Professionals”

Dear Colleagues,

 

Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI), LV RIGA31, invites your institution to participate in 2024-1-LV01-KA131-HED-000222944-4 Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “English for IT Professionals”, designed for Computer Science and Engineering students.

 

This 3 ECTS course (80 academic hours: 36 contact + 44 independent study) strengthens students’ professional English skills specifically for the global IT sector.

 

The programme combines four virtual preparatory sessions in March with an intensive in-person training week in Riga in April 2026.

 

Programme Highlights

• Professional English for IT: Cloud Computing, AI, Cybersecurity, and SDLC
• Technical writing: Jira-style bug reports, “How-to” guides, and professional emails
• Agile communication: Daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives
• Presentation skills: technical demos and Q&A with non-technical stakeholders
• Soft skills: client negotiation, conflict management, and cross-cultural teamwork

 

Structure

• Virtual Phase (online, March):
  Four interactive sessions covering IT trends, technical documentation, Agile communication, and global IT career preparation.
• Virtual session: 02.03.2026-23.03; Intensive training week: 13.04 -17.04.2026;
• Five intensive days focused on technical presentations, client communication, collaborative problem-solving, tech ethics debates, team project presentations, and a cultural programme in Riga.

 

Assessment

• Continuous assessment during the virtual phase
• Active participation during the intensive week
• Final team-based “Tech Solution Pitch” presented in Riga

 

Target Group & Requirements

• Bachelor/Master students in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related fields
• Minimum English level: B1
• Motivation to participate in teamwork, presentations, and debates
